7 amazing movies are in the running for Best Student Film. The selection highlights not only beautiful student films created by artists enrolled at Dutch universities, but also works that challenge and innovate in terms of audio-visual storytelling.

All creators are going to be present for a Q&A.

Art & Davey: The Housemate From Hell, directed by Kayne Mosch, a short animation about two bickering roommates must join forces to expel a demon from their apartment.

Immature, directed by Cheng Tse, an animated documentary that explores gender identity through the lens of body imagery.

Let’s Play, directed by Marzieh Rasekh, an animation about a village consumed by adult responsibilities where a child yearns for play and fun. Unintentionally, his innocent play sparks a war within the village, escalating from simple playfulness to destructive conflict.

Super Duper Mega Fan, directed by Sarah van der Pers, a live action short following Momo - a super fan of the pop idol SuperNova that completely shuts herself off from the outside world, in her bedroom due to self-isolation and accompanying loneliness. But when this bedroom inexplicably collapses, she must find a way out of the in-between world she finds herself in and has to conquer her greatest fear.

Tech Check, directed by Zlatelina Tsokova, an animation about what happens when anxiety spirals out of control, escalating into a train apocalypse.

We Are Waiting for Snow directed by Medea Zingerle, an essay film in which the filmmaker is seeking to connect with a grandfather she never met, stepping into his footsteps and visiting the same places he did in 1931 at 23—the same age she is now.

yet only here I am home, directed by Michael Hauwert, a poetic documentary about how second-generation Dutch people with a migration background see their native country.
