Parthenope is Paolo Sorrentino’s (La Grande Bellezza and Youth) ode to the city of Naples and captures its beauty in picturesque images.

Parthenope shows the life of the woman named after the legendary siren who lived in the Gulf of Naples. She is a magical presence from her birth in 1950 to the present. The film shows Parthenope's passionate love for freedom, her city of Naples and all its different faces, and for the men in her life. While those men are lost in their desires, Parthenope searches for her own happiness. Where does her future lie?

Parthenope premiered at the Cannes Film Festival as part of the Palme d'Or competition.
