Fancy that little bit extra? Otherwise we do. We are therefore organizing a wonderful series of specials especially for all film lovers in Cineville and the surrounding area: Cineville Speciaaltje. Special is the new normal!

This time we watch and listen to Kneecap, a fast-paced music film in which a Northern Irish hip-hop trio reenacts their own bizarre origin story. The story goes like this: three young men start recording rap songs from a basement box in Belfast under the name 'Kneecap' in protest. Due to their controversial lyrics and use of the dying and politicized Irish language, their musical experiment quickly becomes a hopeful punk symbol of the contemporary Irish freedom struggle. Funny, relevant and rebellious. Hiontach!

We are making the Special special again with a side program, an Irish film quiz and a nice prize package. As a Cineviller you can take a +1 with you on an adventure for free.

ABOUT KNEECAP
Language is a weapon. Music is a weapon. So language with music is a super weapon. Not that Mo Chara, Móglaí Bap and DJ Próvaí were necessarily aware of this when they started doing all kinds of things high with their Irish hip-hop collective Kneecap. But when their music is picked up by young people from the neighborhood and beyond, the trio realizes that they really have something to say - while their opponents often literally don't even understand them.

Kneecap the film, an unusual, lively and funny biopic, is bursting with disruptive middle fingers: Fck* the British*, fck silencing a language, fck* what music should sound like, fck* what a film should look like. Even if you don't understand a word, you understand exactly what is being said.
