It's been 10 years since this iconic coming of age film first hit the big screen, and that's still less time than it took to make the film! Before the film, film teacher Twan Arts will give a short introduction to the film.

The introduction will be in Dutch.

BOYHOOD
American director Richard Linklater is known for his unique way of telling stories, and Boyhood is perhaps the best example of this. This film was shot over a period of twelve years, making it one of the most authentic coming-of-age films of all time. We literally see the characters grow up before our eyes. The film tells the story of a divorced couple, Mason and Olivia, who raise their children Samantha and Mason Jr. We follow Mason Jr. from first grade until he turns 18, and seeing how he interacts with his parents, stepparents, and friends. The film paints a beautiful portrait about growing up, forming one's own identity, family life and the passage of time.
