In the brilliantly constructed thriller Se7en, veteran detective William Somerset (Morgan Freeman) and his young partner David Mills (Brad Pitt) are confronted with a series of gruesome murders. Each victim seems to have been chosen based on one of the seven deadly sins: gluttony, sloth and jealousy. As the detectives are drawn ever deeper into the killer’s sinister game, they discover that this case will test not only their skills but also their moral boundaries. With the chilling atmosphere created by Freeman, Pitt and Kevin Spacey, Se7en became an instant highlight of the crime and thriller genre upon its release in 1995. The film challenges viewers to think about justice, guilt and human nature, and remains an absolute must-see for fans of intense, psychological cinema to this day.
