Information documentaries

Trains (Poland, 81 min)

A reflective journey through the twentieth century, composed entirely of archive images. In this wordless film full of beauty and bitterness, the excitement of adventure becomes a curse, and tears of joy mingle with the deepest despair.

An American Pastoral (France, 118 min)

When the lion's share of the public school board in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania is up for re-election, a fierce election campaign begins. A grim, observational micro-level portrait of a deeply divided country.

The Guest (Poland/Qatar, 78 min)

A Polish family offers emergency shelter to a Syrian refugee, who is caught between Polish and Belarusian pushbacks in the grim border area. Time is running out and there are few options. Despite the language problems, a bond is formed.

Mama Micra (Germany, 24 min)

Stop-motion animation about the filmmaker's mother who had an enormous desire for freedom and went out into the wide world. That was at the expense of contact with her daughter, but in this loving film nothing is irreparable.
