The Room Next Door is the new film by Pedro Almodóvar (Dolor Y Gloria) with brilliant leading roles by Julianne Moore and Tilda Swinton. In this intimate drama about growing old, living and dying, the power of friendship is central. Ingrid (Julianne Moore) is a successful writer who discovers that an old friend Martha (Tilda Swinton) is ill. They had lost touch, but the two find each other again immediately when they think back to the life they once shared. When Martha's health deteriorates, she asks Ingrid to support her in her self-chosen end. They leave New York and move to a beautiful villa just outside the city. Surrounded by nature and with their shared passion for art and a former love (John Turturro), they celebrate life while they can.
