Berlin, 1942. Hilde joins the resistance group ‘Die Rote Kapelle’. There she meets Hans and, despite the constant danger to her life, is intensely happy for a summer. When the Gestapo arrests members of the group in the autumn, Hilde, now pregnant, is one of them. In prison she proves to be a stronger woman than she could ever have imagined and she manages to keep the memory of her beloved alive.
